ICAN Support Group - Have you had a Cesarean?
In America today, cesarean rates in the US are an average of 30%, yet many of those performed are medically unnecessary. Women are often shocked or surprised at their cesarean experience and many wish to avoid a repeat surgery with their next baby. Studies show that at least 75% of women who attempt Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) can succeed. Yet, today, in our country, only 10% actually do.
The International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc. (ICAN) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve maternal-child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery, and promoting Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC).
Regular meetings are hosted at Sweet Pea's Studio
every 2nd Sunday of the month at 7:00 pm
All interested parties are encouraged to attend.
While child care is not available at this meeting, quiet nursing infants are welcome.

Sign with your Baby
Babies have so much to say and it can be frustrating when we can't understand them. Signing opens a window to the fascinating world in which they live. Infants can begin signing as early as eight months, several months before their first verbal communication is possible. Each of our monthly Sign with your Baby workshops addresses a particular category of signs, such as family, food, outdoors, feelings, and bedtime routines. You'll come away with a new vocabulary of signs you can use on a daily basis to enable your child to express herself more clearly.
