Women's Health
Midwives and family doctors can provide normal gynecological care for women. They often spend more time with clients and will take time to get to know you as an individual. They will support or provide alternative medicine choices. They should have a nonintervention oriented approach and take time to educate you about your options. As with childbirth, you will want to weigh the risks vs. benefits of any type of treatment. The emphasis of the practitioner/client relationship should be on the individual -- taking responsibility for their own health. There should be a partnership approach to your care.
