Water Birth & Tub Providers
Many hospitals now offer hydrotherapy and/or water birth. Hydrotherapy is used only for comfort during labor and is not water birth. Water birth is when the baby is born into the water in the tub. Water can be very effective in reducing pain and helping progress labor. Some hospitals will let you rent your own tub and bring it with you. Some have their own tubs. Be sure to ask how many mothers have actually given birth in the tub so you can see what your chances of using it are. You can rent one for a home birth. There are several home birth practices that rent only to their clients.
